Several changes in the last few months. In February I stepped down as President of Midwest Furry Fandom. I am still on the board, but I just don't have the time to perform the duties of President, so Perro stepped up to take the position. This is the first time since the 90's that I do not have a lead position in MFF or its predecessor, the Duckon furry track. It feels strange and a bit sad, but it does not make sense to cling to a title if you cannot do the work. MFF has been guided by good people other than me for many years now anyway.

My wife and I went to Las Vegas in March. That was an interesting getaway. My first time there. We visited Hoover dam and went to several shows.

In April I did sneak away to Whinney City Pony Con. My first pony con. Very interesting and the vibe reminded me a bit of furry cons of long ago.

The load of caring for my father has plateaued, but it has to be calculated into everything. Work continues on processing the contents of the two farms into a state that will be ready for an auction, maybe in late summer.

I am planning to attend Anthrocon this summer.

Also, Anne Bramble has kindly included me in her latest costuming project, so I have a few creative outlets to help keep me sane.

What is the status of Duckon now, btw? The last message at the site (in Feb) was pretty grim in tone.

The times, they are a-changin'... sorry to hear you had to step down as MFF's president, but you're right, if life doesn't leave you with the time to do it, it's perhaps best to pass on the baton.

Las Vegas sounds fun, as does the pony con. Will you be at EF, BTW? (Or, alternatively, any plans to attend CFz some day?)

Aye, I understand that. One way or another I hope to see you (and Sammy) again some time!

CFz's a good con! Hope to see you make it over someday - maybe combine it with some sightseeing.

Hopefully will mean a bit less stressed Robert to work with this year! I don't blame you... when I realized I was only going through the motions of running the puppet track, I knew my time was up.

I almost considered doing Whinny City Pony Con... mostly because of where it was located. I kind of wish I went that way instead of MCFC as it was a bit underwhelming.

Oh, I know a good portion of that crew. Alot of them also have attended MFF so they probably recognized you from there. I'm sure I would have been with that group if I would have gone as well. :)

Still, therein lies the value of well-run fan organisations - the people will, necessarily, rotate over the years, but the cons continue. (And spread!) Perhaps it'd be interesting, for a future entry, to present a bit of an MFF retrospective in photos?

I'd enjoy attending a ponycon or two someday, but I still think I'd be more comfortable 'suited, just as at a furcon. ^_^ Not sure as who, though - there's unquestionably a lot of Fluttershy (Best Pony) in me, but then, there's also a fair bit of Rarity and Vinyl beneath the surface, and I'm hoping to bring them to the fore in the coming years. =:)

I can't help with the early years, but I have over a thousand photos from MFF 2005-8 if you need them. Actually, I have even more from 2009-13 as well, but I haven't got around to processing them yet. Probably should, but there's always something else to do!

Good to see you are still around. I still suit and go to cons here in Australia. See my last update for more.

MFM is celebrating it's 20th year

Something to think about if you can make it down to there.

It is hard to attend MFF anymore due to the higher costs of it.

Stay well.
