Here in the US midwest, we're looking at the coldest days we've seen this winter.
Cold weather makes air contract and tire pressure go so low you might just have a flat.

So, make sure your tire pressure is up! Changing a tire in sub-zero weather is no fun...

Yeah, not fun at all. I've been lucky so far, no flats or blowouts in a few months. Now watch me have one today.

I tend to get explosive catastrophic tread separation on these old tires more than anything. I swear, they buy the cheapest retreads out there. I've got one on my rear drive axel that's been retreaded 4 times. The guy who put it on for me showed me the brands they put on the sidewall when they do a retreading. Plus the casing is almost 9 years old, and he said by all rights that tire should never have been retreaded that many times. So yeah, fun, fun, fun.

I check my bike once a week and my car once a month. The car varies by as much as 6psi and the bike by as much as 2psi due to temperature changes

You may also discover that the air pumps at local service stations are out of order. When air is compressed, and then is cooled back toward ambient temperature, its relative humidity can easily reach 100%, causing water to condense out. In cold weather the water can freeze and clog/jam the system.

That's the nice thing with a semi, one can buy a 50' air hose with tire chuck that attaches to the red emergency air line that goes to the trailer, and thus have up to 150PSI of available compressed air.
