Last Friday, my wife and I went to Winchester Indiana to visit my father and help celebrate his 85'th birthday. We took him out for a nice dinner and just spent a pleasant weekend with him.

His well had gone dry at the height of the drought, but it is now almost recovered.
We drove down to Spartanburg, Indiana to visit the artesian well there. I hadn't been there since I was a child, but it was good to see it was still there and still flowing despite the drought.

My father's magic lilies were in bloom, so I took some pictures to help remember exactly where they are planted.

Oh, finestkind! Good to hear it went so well. ^_^

Don't suppose anyone's filling a pool with the well water? That's one of my favorite memories of the little villa we once had, not too far from Alicante - up in the hills a little way, there was a spring, suitably tamed so people could conveniently fill jugs up with the mountain water. Just across the road, a swimming pool, filled with the same water (downstream, I should note =:). No chlorine, no heating. Very, very bracing. Absolutely brilliant in the heat of the summer. =:D

Hmmm not much of a view from above. It is cool to have your own satellite though.

Happy birthday to your dad.
